  Cape's pretty side

Forbes asked a handful of experts to select America's prettiest towns, and look what popped up on the list: southern New Jersey's own Cape May. The tourist destination's architecture appealed to one of the voters, Bob Krist, author of "Travel Photography: Documenting the World's People and Places."

"You can look down a street in Cape May and see seven or eight beautiful Victorians all in a row. It's an architectural integrity that existed before strip malls and before things got homogenized with aluminum siding."

Football tunes

The Jonas Brothers - Kevin, Nick and Joe, below - will perform during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys' nationally televised Thanksgiving Day game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The band will officially kick off the 2008 Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas campaign at the Nov. 27 contest. The fundraising drive continues through Christmas Eve.

Since its 11-year partnership with the Cowboys, the Red Kettle campaign has raised more than $1 billion, helping the Salvation Army serve 30 million people each year nationwide.

Pilot activity

HBO's comedy pilot "How to Make It in America" has found its two lead actors in Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk.

The actors will play friends chasing the American dream in New York, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show comes from the producing team behind "Entourage."

Elsewhere on cable, Spike TV is taking another stab at scripted series, greenlighting a two-hour pilot about Irish mobsters in Boston. The untitled mob drama will focus on the battles between rival factions when a gang boss leaves his position.
