ATLANTIC CITY - A Brigantine man faces more than a dozen charges after he led police on a chase Wednesday night, throwing drugs out of his van as he attempted to drive away, police said.Detective Tim Rose was doing drug surveillance in the Back Maryland section shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday when he and other officers attempted to stop a black van driven by Jason Cylc, 31, of Brigantine at North Carolina Avenue and City Place, said Capt. Glenn Abrams of the Special Investigations Unit.Cylc refused to stop his car and sped away, throwing baking soda - used to cut cocaine - 13 bags of cocaine and 30 prescription pain pills containing a narcotic out the window, Abrams said. During the pursuit, Cylc's van struck a parked vehicle and a sign at the Trump Marina Hotel Casino, causing about $5,000 in damages, Abrams said. The van sustained a flat tire in the collision, but Cylc continued to drive to Brigantine, where he was stopped by Detective Mike Tracey, Abrams said. Cylc resisted arrest, and K-9 Officer Frank Timek and his partner, Vader, subdued him.Cylc was found to be carrying an additional 74 pills, tranquilizers and painkillers, and one more bag of cocaine, Abrams said. He was charged with 16 separate offenses, including possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and resisting arrest.
