Art imitates a harsh life
Published: Tuesday, September 30, 2008
Carrying a painting called 'Blood Diamond' (showing a child with a severed arm) artist Richmond Garrick heads for the Garden Pier Art Center on the Atlantic City Boardwalk where his work will be on display in a show Wednesday. Garrick says his work depicts atrocities going on in his native Africa, even against children. Garrick is from Sierra Leone, a country rich in diamonds but plagued by civil war. He now lives in Willingboro.Staff photo by Danny Drake
