  Bridgeton

Free movie screenings

at Rainear next month

Bridgeton's recreation department will be launching nighttime screenings of family-friendly movies at the Donald Rainear Amphitheater next month. The screenings, which begun at dusk, will be displayed on a ten-foot screen.

The lineup, with short film synopses, is as follows:

n Friday, Aug. 2, "Enchanted," starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Susan Sarandon. The Disney fairytale lands in modern-day New York when a storybook princess is thrust into present-day Manhattan by an evil queen. Her prince follows to rescue her, but the princess' journey causes her to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer.

n Friday, Aug. 16, "Surf's Up," starring the voices of Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges and Zooey Deschanel. The CGI-animated comedy is based on the 'revelation' that surfing was actually invented by penguins. A documentary crew takes the audiences behind the scenes at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship and talks to the newest star, Cody Maverick.

Residents are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Refreshments, such as popcorn and soda, will also be available for purchase.
