VINELAND — City officials say their renewed commitment to refurbishing the municipally owned electric utility has caused private energy businesses to beat a path to City Hall.On Monday, a group of representatives from Amelio Solar, a Ewing, N.J.-based, developer of solar-energy technology, expressed interest in building a large-scale factory to manufacture solar panels within city limits. The plan could take advantage of the city’s existing glass-making economy.Such a solar-panel production hub could be the largest in the state, according to Bart Wolman, chief sales and marketing officer for the firm. See Tuesday's edition of The Press for more details.
