Trump Plaza, which closed in 2014, is owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts, a company controlled by billionaire Carl Icahn. Icahn also has a controlling stake in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel—where Local 54 employees are on strike—and the Tropicana Atlantic City.

As part of a 2015 agreement between the billionaires, Icahn was allowed to keep the Trump’s name on Taj Mahal, while he was forced to remove it from the Trump Plaza property. However, remnants of the presumptive Republican nominee’s name remained on the old casino.

Clinton attempted to draw attention to Trump’s history in Atlantic City by giving a stump speech next to the decaying Trump Plaza property July 6.

“His businesses were failing long before the rest of the town was struggling,” she said, standing in front of Trump Plaza. “In fact, other businesses here did worse because Donald Trump acted so irresponsibly.

Trump has repeatedly said that his time Atlantic City was fruitful, and that politics and outside factors hurt the resort’s gambling enterprises.

“I made a lot of money in Atlantic City and left 7 years ago, great timing (as all know). Pols made big mistakes, now many bankruptcies,” Trump said in a Twitter message after Clinton’s visit.
