The Richard Stockton College men’s basketball team built a 22-point halftime lead and went on to beat host William Paterson University 71-60 Saturday in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in Wayne.

The Ospreys snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 12-4 overall and 8-3 NJAC. The Pioneers are 11-6 and 7-4.

Stockton’s Josh Blamon was 5-for-7 in 3-point shooting and topped all scorers with 19 points.

Also for the Ospreys, Kevin Johnson scored 12 points and had four steals and a career-high eight assists. Jesse Hunt addedd 11 points and four steals. Darnell McCargo led with eight rebounds and Rameel Johnson had seven rebounds. Bright Mensah led William Paterson with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Stockton women’s basketball: Paterson rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to beat the Ospreys 76-66 in an NJAC game.

Floriana Borova scored 21 points for William Paterson, which won despite the fact that the Ospreys hit 27-of-29 from the foul line.

The Pioneers improved to 13-5 overall and 7-3 NJAC. Stockton is 9-6 and 4-5.

Stockton sophomore Alex Nardoza scored a career-high 26 points, hitting 6-for-8 field-goal attempts and 12-of-13 foul shots. Alexa Ryan scored 15 points for th Ospreys, while Che’Na Thompson had nine points and eight rebounds, and Ta’Yon Morgan-Jones had eight points.

Atlantic Cape men’s basketball: Atlantic Cape Community College defeated Bergen County College 90-85 in a Region XIX game. Muji McBride (Atlantic City) scored 24 points and Armin Cane (Pleasantville) added 21 for the Buccaneers (7-10).

Julian Martin scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished five assists and made two steals. Cesar Sandoval (Absegami) added 17 points.

Atlantic Cape women’s basketball: Arlene Craig (Absegami) registered 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and seven steals in a 58-45 win over Bergen County College.

Darice Collier (Absegami) also posted 15 points to go along with six steals. Kerry Player (Cape May Tech) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Player also had five blocks, while Beni Santiago (Absegami) added six points and 16 rebounds.

The Bucs improved to 11-9 with the win.
