Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Late Friday: Was 2-for-5 with an RBI in a 5-2 win over the Yankees.

Saturday: Leading off and playing left field, he as 1-for-2 with three walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 6-2 win over the New York Yankees.

Today: The Angels host the Yankees at 3:35 p.m. The Yankees’ scheduled starter is CC Sabathia (6-5, 4.07).

Stats: Trout is hitting .301 with 12 home runs, 43 RBIs, 49 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 68 games.

Notes: Trout began Saturday second in the American League with 39 extra-base hits.
