The following is a list of some slayings that occurred in Hamilton Township in recent years.

March 2009: Ron Clemente shoots his soon-to-be-estranged wife, Patrice, to death with a semiautomatic handgun in a veterinary clinic. Clemente then kills himself.

March 2009: Mario Justo-Perez fatally stabs his girlfriend, Saily Abreu, inside their home. Justo-Perez then sets the house on fire, killing himself.

May 2008: Leonard Ford shoots Troy Cottman to death in the basement of Cottman’s Oak Crest Estates apartment after an argument. Ford is sentenced to 22 years in prison.

June 2007: Diana Marquez is shot to death outside her Oak Crest Estates home as she takes out the trash. The shooter remains at large.

April 2006: Jarold Benitez shoots his stepbrother, Raymond Velazquez, four times. While the reason for the shooting was never revealed in court, officials said it appeared to have been done in revenge for something Benitez believed Velazquez had done. Benitez is sentenced to 15 years in prison.

December 2005: Walter Dille Jr., a white supremacist, shoots Cindy Cade, an African-American, to death as she went to buy movie tickets at the Regal Cinema. The shooting occurred during a botched carjacking. Dille gets life in prison.

June 2003: James Chipman shoots his sister, Roberta Brown, in the head in what was supposed to be a murder-suicide pact. Chipman couldn’t go through with killing himself. Chipman is sentenced to 20 years in prison.

December 2002: Mickey Bryant beats his mother, Loretta, to death with a barbell plate after an argument. Bryant repeatedly hit his mother in the face and head, leaving his brother to find the bloodied body. Bryant is sentenced to 16 years in prison.

April 2000: Richard DeBow shoots Joseph Gigliotti to prove his love for his ex-girlfriend. DeBow is sentenced to 40 years in prison for the ambush-style slaying.

November 1997: Andrei Goumnov, an illegal immigrant from Russia, kills Ronald Botbyl Sr. with a single shot to the head during a home invasion. Goumnov gets life in prison, plus 76 years.
