Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 and 2013 American League MVP runner-up and the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate.

Sunday: Trout went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Angels’ 2-1 loss to the Tigers.

Monday: The Angels travel to Washington to face Tanner Roark (1-0, 5.29 ERA) at 7:05 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .307 (23-for-75) with five home runs, 14 runs and 13 RBIs. His on-base percentage is .373 and his OPS (OBP plus slugging percentage) .987. He has struck out 22 times and stolen two bases.
