A cab driver was beaten and robbed Sunday afternoon, police said.

The unnamed driver was struck in the head with a blunt object about 2 p.m. near Adriatic and New Hampshire avenues in Atlantic City, police Sgt. Monica McMenamin said. A resident heard him yelling for help and called police.

Three juveniles struck the man and one took an undetermined amount of cash from his right front pocket, the police report said.

Police stopped a group of juveniles in the area, but the victim was unable to identify them. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment of injuries to his head and knee. He has been released.

Forensics Officer Ray Wagner processed the taxi and took photographs of the victim's injuries for evidence, McMenamin said.
