Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 22, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Wednesday: Trout went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in a 4-1 loss to the Rays.

Thursday: Batting cleanup and playing left field, Trout went 0-for-2 with two walks in a 2-0 win at Tampa Bay. He struck out once.

Friday: The Angels will be in Milwaukee to play the Brewers and starter Wily Peralta (8-13, 4.51 ERA) at 8:10 p.m.

Stats: Trout is hitting .331 with 23 home runs, 81 RBIs, 91 runs and 29 stolen bases in 33 chances in 128 games. His on-base percentage is. 428, his slugging percentage .572 and his OPS was 1.000.
