Benet's ballads

Eric Benet, above, the former Mr. Halle Berry, is a four-time Grammy nominee, who has had such songs as "Spend My Life With You," "Georgy Porgy," "Sometimes I Cry" and "You're the Only One" reach into the top-20 of the R&B singles chart. Benet, 46, sings Saturday at Harrah's Resort.

Other entertainment in town Saturday includes rappers Salt-N-Pepa and DMX at Boardwalk Hall, soul music from The Spinners at Resorts Casino Hotel and rockers Circa Survive at the House of Blues Atlantic City in the Showboat Casino Hotel.

A final CD

"Beautiful" is the 14th and last album R&B singer Teena Marie, above, recorded before she died of natural causes at age 54 on Dec. 26, 2010.

Marie's 21-year-old daughter, Alia Rose, finished the 12-song recording, which will be released Tuesday.

'Broken City'

Russell Crowe plays the mayor of New York City, Catherine Zeta-Jones, his wife, and Mark Wahlberg, above, an ex-police officer, in the crime drama "Broken City," which is directed by Allen Hughes.

"Broken City" is released nationwide in theaters Friday along with the action film "The Last Stand" and the horror flick "Mama."

Teen Carrie

AnnaSophia Robb, above, plays the 16-year-old version of "Sex and the City" heroine Carrie Bradshaw in the new show "The Carrie Diaries." Bradshaw was memorably portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker in the "Sex and the City" TV series and movies. This prequel is set in 1984, and premieres 8 p.m. Monday on WPSG-TV 57.
