One of the world’s best-known female golfers is coming to Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township.
Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez headlines the third-annual Skins Fore Kids Tournament on Oct. 1.
Lopez and PGA Tour professional Bryce Molder will play a charity skins game at the event, which benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City and The First Tee of Greater Atlantic City.
Lopez, 55, may be the most famous female golfer ever.
She won 48 LPGA events, including the Atlantic City LPGA Classic (now the ShopRite LPGA Classic) at Greate Bay Resort & Country Club in Somers Point in 1989.
She became a national sensation as a rookie in 1978 when she won nine tournaments, including five in a row. Lopez made the cover of Sports Illustrated and was named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year.
Molder, 33, has played fulltime on the PGA Tour since 2007. He won the Frys.com Open last October.
In addition to the skins game, Lopez and Moulder will give a clinic and play an afternoon tournament with sponsors.
The skins game is the highlight. The players wear microphones and fans can practically walk along side the pros. Three amateurs will be selected by raffle to play in the skins game.
Tickets for the general public are $25 and must be bought in advance.
For more information on sponsorship, how to participate in the tournament, be a caddie for one of the pros, or for spectator tickets, visit www.acbgc.org, or contact Mekos Denson at 609-347-2697.
