Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Saturday: Went 1-for-2 with two walks and one run scored in a 12-9 win over Chicago. He also got hit by a pitch and was thrown out trying to steal second base.

Today: The Angels host the White Sox at 3:35 p.m. Jake Peavy (5-1, 2.96) is Chicago’s scheduled starter.

Stats: Trout is hitting .285 with 29 RBIs and 29 runs scored in 43 games. He has 12 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and eight stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .370.
