Police were knocking on doors in an attempt to question residents of the complex.

A male friend who shares the apartment with Haile told police two males came inside, assaulted him and shot her, according to the report. The North Philadelphia couple just moved to the city four days ago for a job at a local restaurant.

There was little description of the suspects. One was a light-skinned black male wearing all dark clothing. The other was a dark-skinned black male with a gun wearing all dark clothing.

The victims indicated that both suspects were wearing identical black coats, but didn't specify the style. Nothing was taken. There was some damage to the apartment, including a broken mirror and television, McMenamin said.
