Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Late Friday: Playing center field and then left and batting second, he was 1-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base and two walks in a 4-2 win over the Astros in Houston.

Saturday: Went 1-for-4 with a walk as the Angels won their fifth straight game, 4-2 over the Houston Astros.

Sunday: The Angels play at Houston at 2:10 p.m. The Astros’ scheduled starter is Lucas Harrell (5-8, 4.84).

Stats: Trout is hitting .315 with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs, 57 runs and 20 stolen bases on 23 attempts in 81 games. His on-base percentage was .392, his slugging percentage .545.
