Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 1-for-4 (double) with a run scored for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in an 8-3 win over Montgomery in a double-A Southern League game Monday night. Szczur, who batted leadoff and played center field, is hitting .296 with 18 runs scored, 12 RBIs and six stolen bases in 18 games. The Smokies improved to 11-7.

Darren Ford (Vineland) went 1-for-3 for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 5-4 win over Louisville in the triple-A International League. Ford, who batted leadoff and played center field, also stole a base. He is hitting .261 with six runs scored, three RBIs and six stolen bases in 13 games for the Indians, who improved to 13-6.

Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) started and gave up six hits and three runs in four innings for the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) in a 3-2 loss to Beloit in the Class-A Midwest League. He walked three and struck out four. DeCecco is 1-3 with a 3.60 ERA in four starts.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 1-0 with a 3.68 ERA through three starts for the Lynchburg Hillcats (Braves) in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League. His next start has not been announced.
