OF Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 0-for-5 for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in their 2-0 loss to the Mobile BayBears (Diamondbacks) on Sunday in the double-A Southern League. Szczur went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Saturday. Szczur is hitting .278 with 72 runs scored, 41 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 122 games.

OF Darren Ford (Vineland) went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 10-inning 8-5 win over the Rochester Red Wings (Twins) in the triple-A International League Sunday. On Saturday, Ford went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk in a 6-4 win.

LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) of the High Desert Mavericks (Mariners) of the Advanced Class-A California League, is 9-8 with a 4.46 ERA in 25 starts overall this season. In 1371/3 innings, he has given up 143 hits, walked 42 and struck out 83. He also pitched 24 games for the Clinton LumberKings this season. His last start was Wednesday.

RHP A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) did not appear for the Lynchburg Hillcats (Braves) in their 4-2 win over the Frederick Keys (Orioles) on Sunday. He gave up one hit in one inning of relief against Frederick on Saturday. He is 5-9 with a 4.89 ERA in 26 appearances, all but the last two were starts, in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League.

RHP Darren Fischer (Cumberland Regional) is 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Princeton (W.Va.) Rays in the rookie-level Appalachian League. In 171/3 innings, he has allowed 12 hits, walked seven and struck out 16.

Independent leagues (unaffiliated with MLB)

OF Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) did not play for the Schaumburg (Ill.) Boomers in an 11-2 loss to the Lake Erie Crushers on Sunday in the Frontier League. Colon went 0-for-2 with two walks Saturday in a 4-3 win. Colon is hitting .267 with five home runs, 31 RBIs, 15 doubles, five triples and 33 runs scored in 74 games.

RHP Charlie Law (Mainland Regional) Law is 3-3 with a 2.97 ERA in six starts. In 33 1/3 innings, he has allowed 33 hits, walked 21 and struck out 18. His last start, which was a no-hitter, was Friday.
