A 22-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday morning after an apparent fall from the Golden Nugget Atlantic City’s self-park garage.
The investigation was still in its early stages, so police had not yet conclusively determined what happened, Sgt. Monica McMenamin said Thursday.
The man was conscious when security staff found him about 2:30 a.m. They immediately called paramedics, the casino’s general manager Tom Pohlman said in an emailed statement.
“It is unfortunate,” Pohlman said of the incident. “The person was not a registered guest of our hotel, but, according to friends, was with them prior to the incident at a neighboring property.”
The Golden Nugget is one of three casinos in the city’s Marina District. Borgata and Harrah’s Resort are the others.
The man, whose name was not being released yet, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police had not yet determined the floor from which he fell. They were still reviewing surveillance footage, McMenamin said.
Atlantic City police Detective Tom Holton was leading the investigation.
