GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP -- The Richard Stockton College softball team stayed competitive throughout but lost 1-0 and 2-0 to  Montclair State University (16-0), the No. 1 team in NCAA Division III in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association rankings, today.

Montclair pitcher Alex Hill (13-0) allowed one hit in the first game and three hits in the second game. Stockton is 13-3.

Montclair’s only run in the first game was a homer by Tara Petrucelli against Stockton pitcher Michelle Pietrocola in the fourth inning. Monclair scored single runs in the second and seventh innings off Stockton pitcher Brittany Ksiezopolski in Game 2.
