ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was arrested this morning after he threatened to blow up the Atlantic County building.

The building at 1333 Atlantic Ave. was briefly evacuated after the man made the threat while trying to get food stamps at the Welfare Office, Capt. Charles Love said.

The building was evacuated and Gary Werbitzky, 57, was taken into custody.

He is charged with creating a public alarm.

There was no danger found, and people were allowed back into the building a short time later.
