Cole Vanderslice hit an RBI double in the sixth inning to give Ocean City the lead for good in a 7-5 win against Monroe Township in a Little League Section 4 11-12-year-old baseball game Tuesday.

Vanderslice went 2-for-4, including a two-run home run to tie the game at 4-4. Ocean City rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the final three innings. Solomon Griffith was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Victor Mahar was 2-for-3. Dan Nunan hit a two-out, two-run home run.

Defensively, Mahar and Randy Young made big plays for Ocean City. Jesse Schmeizer picked up the win in relief.

From Sunday: Ocean City beat East Vineland 6-0 in a Region 4 baseball game. Dan Nunan, Solomon Griffith and Jesse Schmeizer combined for the shutout. Nunan hit a two-run home run and Cole Vanderslice scored two runs.

Senior League baseball

Buena defeated Cherry Hill American 4-2 in a Section 4 game.

Len Coulter pitched six innings and also had an RBI. Evan Rogers had two hits and Andrew Cartier had two RBIs. Jordan Ellis reached base four times for Buena.
