Lauren Holden became the all-time leading scorer for Lower Cape May Regional High School in a 71-61 victory over second-seeded Sterling in the South Jersey Group II girls basketball quarterfinals Thursday.

Holden's 41 points gave her 1,672 for her career, which broke the record - girls and boys - of 1,661 set by Charles Johnson in 2006.

Ariel Magee added 13 points for the seventh-seeded Caper Tigers against Sterling.

Lower Cape May advances to the semifinals to play third seeded Cedar Creek on Saturday.

Middle will play at top-seeded Deptford on Saturday in a semifinal game at 1 p.m. Deptford defeated eighth-seeded Overbrook 70-43.

Atlantic Christian splits two at National Christian Tournament

The Atlantic Christian girls basketball team lost one and won one Thursday at the National Christian Tournment in Erie, Pa.

First, the Cougars lost to Destiny Christian from Oklahoma. Dakota Hitchner scored 28 in the loss. Ola Oguntuase added 10.

Atlantic Christian won the second game, defeating Christian Heritage 51-44. Oguntuase had 19 points and Hitchner scored nine.
