Asylum Fight League takes place 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Taj.

WHO ARE THEY: Asylum Fight League is an amateur mixed martial arts league dedicated to nurturing, preparing and showcasing east coast talent. Several Asylum fighters have gone on to successful professional careers. “The goal has always been that today’s Asylum stars are tomorrow’s UFC stars,” said AFL promoter Carl Mascarenhas. “That’s what the Asylum is all about.”

WHAT TO EXPECT: The Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort is gearing up for the next Asylum Fight League event taking place Saturday night. Asylum Fight League 44 features a fight card consisting of 11 exciting bouts. Cesar Balmaceda (1-0) will take on Chris Landy (0-2), while James Chambers (1-0) battles Allan Hendrickson (2-0). Other great matchups include James Scibetti (0-2) vs. Rodrigo Romulo (1-0), Michael Kim (2-0) vs. Robert Wallin (2-1), Frank Zampese (0-1) vs. Roger Borshe Jr. (2-0) and Kado Ford (1-0) vs. Ivan Perez (0-2).
