WHO ARE THEY: The Flamingos are a doo wop group that originally formed in Chicago in the early 1950s. After achieving success on the local scene the group eventually scored R&B hits with “A Kiss From Your Lips” and “I’ll Be Home.” It was in 1959 however, when The Flamingos achieved true national fame with their hit “I Only Have Eyes For You.” The success helped paved the way for more hit songs such as “Mio Amore,” “Your Other Love,” “Nobody Love Me Like You” and “I Was Such a Fool.” In 2001 The Flamingos were inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame.
