Charles Bofinger, an artist from Bucks County, Pa., uses the sea for inspiration and spends most of his time painting beach scenes and Philadelphia street scenes in his Stone Harbor studio.

Eleinne Basa is a national award-winning artist who started her studies in her native Manila. She continued to hone her skills upon emigrating to the United States and has studied with contemporary realist Gary Goodbee and landscape artist Skip Whitcomb.

Valerie Craig is a self-taught artist who has spent more than 20 years painting with oils and watercolors. Her best work reflects her connection to the local Pennsylvania countryside as well as the southern New Jersey farms and beaches.

Rae Smith, the fourth artist on display in the show, favors paintings of lakes, ponds, wetlands and forests. More

Diving helmet inspires Grasso exhibit

Who knew a diving helmet could inspire art? Cape May County artist Victor Grasso says his latest exhibit, "For Love of the Deep" - now on display at the SOMA NewArt Gallery in Cape May - was inspired by the Mark V U.S. Naval diving helmet used in the 1940s.
