The Hammonton Arts Center continues its celebration of Women's History Month with its "Women in the Arts Juried Art Exhibit," on view through April 3.
Noted painter Jane Whiting received top honors in the competition for her work, "Pre-Inca," which is the first of three in an elaborate series of paintings featuring the faces of women.
Pam Scribner, of Vineland, received a second-place award for her pen and ink entitled "Cove," and Cathy DeMarco, of Hammonton, received third place for her paining "Looking in to It."
Honorable mentions were awarded to Betsy Naumchick, of Galloway Township; Mary Ann Kline, of Egg Harbor Township; Robin D'Adamo, of Somers Point; Cathy Rodricks, of McKee City; Deb Spinella, of Mays Landing; and Kelly Hunt, of Hammonton.
The public can view all the works at the Hammonton Arts Center, located at 219 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton. Admission to the gallery is free. •Photographer Holly Horner will present an artist talk and demonstration 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton College, 733 Lily Lake Road, Galloway Township. Horner will present and demonstrate the fine art technique of Polaroid emulsion and image transfers.
