Seafood Week at Trop

On the heels of successful beer and martini weeks, the Tropicana Casino and Resort is offering foodies a special week as it offers its first Seafood Week from Sunday, April 14, to Saturday, April 20.

The kickoff will take place 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, in Palm Walk, where guests can sample Fin's famous lobster bisque - the best in the city - while checking out Atlantic City Aquarium's touch tank and even catch a special "Under the Sea"-themed Zumba demo by Tilton Fitness.

But there are plenty of special seafood offerings all week. Highlights include:

Cuba Libre's suntanned salmon, filet of North Atlantic salmon bronzed with honey-mango glaze and more for $21 (April 14 to 19 only).

Three-course $38.95 meal in Fin includes Barnegat Light Cioppino Jersey littleneck clams, Viking Village scallops and monkfish, Pacific white shrimp, mussels and blue crab ravioli in a champagne-tomato broth.

Three-course $38.95 meal in Il Verdi includes Cioppino Arrabiatta Jersey littleneck clams, Viking Village scallops, Pacific white shrimp, mussels and jumbo lump crabmeat in a spicy red broth over cappellini.

Lobster lovers can have their fantasy at The Palm for $99 with a four-pound Nova Scotia lobster split for two with choice of Caesar salad, mixed green salad or lobster bisque with two individual sides.

P.F. Chang is offering mahi mahi grilled with lemongrass garlic sauce with cilantro rice for $17.95.

Drink specials include Swedish fish martini ($6) at Anthem from April 17 to 20; lobster martini at The Bar at Fin ($25) with Grey Goose, lobster essence, spicy tomato consomme with a Maine lobster claw and Old Bay-dusted rim plus oyster shooters ($3.75 each or nine for $30); and Shrimpy Mary ($4) a classic Bloody Mary with two chilled shrimp at Firewaters. Borgata Scotch dinner

Old Homestead will continue Borgata's Savor Borgata Culinary Series 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, with a Scotch dinner that will pair three courses from the restaurant Zagat named Atlantic City's "Top Restaurant" for 2012 and 2013 with Scotches.

The $99 dinner will include an informative session by Pernod Ricard master of Scotch Ross Graham as well as a hand-rolled Jimenez cigar after the dinner that can be enjoyed at Level One.

Menu items include molasses-cured bacon, iceburg wedge, mesquite-smoked filet mignon and "Big n Tall" chocolate cake, paired with selections that include Glenlivet 15 and 21, as well as 18-year-old Glenlivet.

Garces events at Revel

Iron Chef Jose Garces will be the center of attention at Revel on Thursday and Friday, April 18 and 19, for two special events at two of his three restaurants inside the casino-resort.

The fun starts 7 p.m. Thursday inside his Spanish tapas restaurant Amada, where he will host a multi-course meal celebrating his second cookbook, "The Latin Road Home." The $85, multi-course dinner will feature dishes from each of the book's five chapters: Ecuador, Spain, Cuba, Mexico and Peru, plus every guest will receive a copy of the cookbook that Garces will personally autograph.

Then starting 6 p.m. Friday, Village Whiskey will host its first-ever Whiskey School. a seminar in a new series of whiskey tastings. Co-hosted by brand ambassadors for some of the bar's Scotch whiskey selections, the $50 event will be limited to 25 people and will feature tastings and bar snacks.

Taught in cooperation with Stephanie Ridgeway, a Highland Park ambassador, and Toni-Lynn Gross, a Macallan ambassador, Scotch Class will focus on Famous Grouse, Highland Park 15- and 18-year and Macallan 12-year scotches, including their history and tasting notes.
