Local musicians are playing alongside Hollywood headliners this weekend - all in southern New Jersey. Get a double-dose of fame and fortune on Saturday, June 20, at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa's mur.mur in Atlantic City.
Not only will Samantha Ronson, on-again-off-again girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan, be spinning some of the finest dance tunes you'll hear in A.C. this weekend, but the party is being hosted by Kristin Cavallari, the young starlette known for her role in MTV's smash series, "The Hills." What's the occasion, you wonder? No occasion - it's just Atlantic City on a Saturday night. The party kicks off at 10 p.m.
Other fun and games happening at mur.mur this week include DJ Eli Escobar's weekly Friday night gig and mur.mur Mondays with music by Ob-One. All of the action starts at 10 p.m. Call 609-317-1000 for any and all questions.
But the drama of those devilish divas may have you craving the low-key styles of homegrown talent. And no one can blame you - especially with Ace Enders slated to play Hangar 84 in Vineland this Friday evening.
Enders, best known for being in the recently disbanded Early November, made quite a name for himself on the indie music scene not only in New Jersey but across the country. His latest musical endeavor, Ace Enders and A Million Different People, is making its way through the BBQ Across America Tour. The show starts at 6 p.m. Also slated to play is Person L. By the time Wednesday rolls around, you'll be aching for more live rock 'n' roll. Lucky for you, this Wednesday is the Second Annual Bring The Music Festival featuring Liam and Me, Rookie Of The Year, You, Me and Everyone We Know, The Morning Of, Go Crash Audio, The Lives of Famous Men, Van Atta High, Cassonova Brown, A's Rage, Where The Ocean Meets The Sky, Raccoon Fighter, I Know The Struggle, Eyes On The Prize, The Crosstown Rivalry and Cheezy and The Crackers. That's a LOT of live music!
It all happens, in true festival style, at the U-Sell Flea Market, located at 2896 S. Delsea Drive in Vineland. There will be two stages set up with all bands playing back to back, so it's impossible to miss a beat. Clothing, food and band merchandise vendors will be set up throughout the festival, so you'll never go hungry for sweet eats or awesome audio.
