Only public courses are listed. All greens fees are subject to change without notice by the courses. Most courses haves rates that vary by season. Please call ahead to confirm prices.

Atlantic County

Blue Heron Pines G.C.

Greens fees: $88 Monday to Thursday, $99 Friday to Sunday and holidays. Noon to 3 p.m.: $78 Monday to Thursday, $89 Friday to Sunday. After 3 p.m.: $49.

Tee times: Recommended, and may be made up to 10 days in advance. Reserve tee times online or by calling 800-GOLF-222.

Metal spikes: Not allowed.

Amenities: Pro shop, driving range, restaurant, the Golf Academy at Blue Heron Pines.

Pro's description of course: Five sets of tees on championship holes offer variety and playability for golfers of every level.

Frog Rock C.C.

Greens fees: $21 Monday to Friday, $31 Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Green fees include a cart. Walking prices: $15 Monday to Friday, $25 Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Metal spikes: Soft spikes preferred.

Wednesday Night Open Scramble: Every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. $23, includes 9 holes, dinner, prize.

Tee times: No tee time required.

Hamilton Trails C.C.

Greens fees: $16 weekdays, $18 Saturday, Sunday and holidays. $7 for a riding cart. Replay rate to play a second nine holes: walking, $8, riding, $10.

Amenities: Driving range, individual lessons and clinics available on Wednesday and Saturday.

Pro's description of course: Regulation length. Par threes require a carry over ponds. Tree-lined, challenging par fours.

Harbor Pines G.C.

Metal spikes: Not allowed. Collared shirts required, no denim, no pull carts.

Amenities: Pro shop, driving range, restaurant, liquor license, putting and chipping green, teaching program, individual and group lessons, clinics.

Pro's description of course: A parkland-style course. Designed to challenge players of all abilities.

Latona C.C.

Oak and Cumberland roads, Buena; 856-692-8149; 9 holes

Greens fees: $16 Monday to Friday to walk, $25 to ride; $19 Saturday, Sunday and holidays to walk, $27 to ride.

Tee times: Not required.

Metal spikes: No preference.

Amenities: Limited pro shop.

Manager's description: 9-hole regulation course that proves to be difficult. Very well-maintained greens have steep bunkers surrounding most holes.

McCullough's

Emerald Golf Links

Tee times: May be booked 12 days in advance for non-residents and 14 days in advance for residents. Book tee times online or by telephone.

Metal spikes: Not allowed. Proper golf attire required.

Amenities: Pro shop, restaurant and bar.

Description of course: Tremendous vistas abound at this Stephen Kay Irish-Scottish design, just 15 minutes from Atlantic City.

Seaview Resort & Spa

Tee times: Recommended and available 14 days in advance. Hotel guests 60 days in advance. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Metal spikes: Not allowed. Proper golf attire required.

Amenities: Pro shop, driving range, hotel, restaurant, liquor license, chipping and putting greens, Seaview Golf Academy, learning center.

Pro's description of course: The Bay Course, completed in 1915, reflects Scottish influences with small, undulating greens guarded by steep-faced bunkers. The Pines course, built into the New Jersey Pinelands, is considered Parkland in style, with long, tree-lined fairways winding wonderfully through the pines.

Twisted Dune

Tee times: Call for tee times. Book 10 days in advance by calling 609-653-8019. Booking is still possible beyond the 10 days at a charge of $5 a player.

Amenities: Pro shop, driving range, snack bar, chipping and putting greens, teaching academy.

Pro's description of course: 18-hole Scottish links with mounds, bunkers, quarry, water. Course challenges golfers of all levels.

Vineyard G.C. at Renault

Pro's description of course: Vineyard-style, 18-hole course with five sets of tees stretching from 5,176 to 7,213 yards.

Cape May County

Ocean City Municipal G.C.

Greens fees: Weekdays - $12, $9 for ages 62 and older and 18 and younger. Weekends - $12 for everyone. Pull carts $3.

Metal spikes: No preference.

Manager's description of course: A small course set in the wetlands. Good for irons play. Greens are small but in very good shape.

Cumberland County

Ocean County

Ocean County G.C. at Atlantis

Manager's description of course: George Fazio design. Four water holes. Challenging, championship course.

Sea Oaks G.C.

Greens fees: Monday to Thursday - $90. Friday to Sunday - $105; 2 to 4 p.m. $55, after 4 p.m. $40.

Pro's description of course: Sea Oaks Golf Club was designed by golf course architect Ray Hearn. The course layout is specific to southern New Jersey, with wind-blown sand, pines and oaks incorporated into uphill and downhill designs. The course combines unique and diverse water features, formal and informal bunker formations with natural grasses.

Camden County

Pinelands G.C.

Pro's description of course: Short but tight with numerous elevation changes. A challenge at any level.
