Signs of spring are starting to appear, and St. Patrick's Day has come and gone. In other words, the countdown to summer at the shore has officially begun.
"We've been waiting for them," says Michelle Casey, co-owner of Casey's on Third, a year-round Irish pub located in North Wildwood. "We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back down this summer."
Casey's On Third will enter its seventh year at the shore this summer. Its owners are North Wildwood brothers Tom (Michelle's husband) and Kevin Casey.
"It's an Irish sports bar," Michelle says, serving lunch and dinner daily, with happy hour specials, HD TVs throughout and two full bars, each with 10 beers on tap including Irish favorites such as Harp, Smithwick's and Guinness.
Casey's on Third also offers year-round live entertainment every Friday and Saturday, and Thursdays in the summer.
"Live entertainment is very important to us," Michelle says. "We keep the entertainment going all year round for the locals and second-homeowners who come down on weekends. They know we're open, and they know we have a band on Friday and Saturday nights, and that's exactly what they're looking for regardless of the time of year."
The pub also has a large dance floor in front of an elevated stage, where bands perform, making for a night of dancing and fun. Some popular bands that frequent the pub are Jamison, Love Affair and Animal House. Performing every Thursday in the summer is The Sindi Raymond Band.
