Seafood galore, boat races, car shows, fishing and a little bit of Halloween terror - the family fun events continue in the Wildwoods with another weekend packed full things to do.
Governor's Cup Hydrofest Powerboat Races
Think NASCAR on the water.
That's how organizers are describing the Governor's Cup Hydrofest Powerboat Races, a weekend full of high-speed events with powerboats reaching speeds up to 140 miles per hour.
Races will be running on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 7, beginning at 10 a.m. both days. The family-friendly event will be held on Sunset Lake in Wildwood Crest, located at Rambler Road and New Jersey Avenue.
Hydrofest features hydroplane and flat-bottom race boats in a series of high-speed races along the bay at Sunset Lake, a one-mile oval course. Each race is comprised of four laps, presenting a challenge of driving skill and timing for the racers.
This year's event will feature more than 70 powerboat teams from both the United States and Canada competing for national and international honors. The stakes are even higher at Hydrofest, as the event is home to the New Jersey Governor's Cup and this year's Eastern Divisional Championships - two prestigious titles all powerboat racing teams strive to hold.
There will be a six-block marketplace featuring powerboat racing merchandise, craft vendors and food vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. The event is free for spectators. Special pit passes for Hydrofest are available for $10.

Seafood & Music Festival
Clam chowder, check. Lobster, check.
The fifth annual Seafood and Music Festival takes place 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, featuring a full day of music, dancing, family fun and, of course, seafood.
The Seafood and Music Festival will take place along Atlantic Avenue between Wildwood and Schellenger avenues in Wildwood. The day will include live music, food vendors, pie-eating contests, a clam chowder contest and craft vendors.
A Kids Korner, with children's activities including pumpkin painting, face painting and inflatable bouncers, will be open noon to 4 p.m.
The day's free live entertainment on two stages includes blues singer Frank Bey and The Swing City Blues Band, Who Knows Band, Spoonful-O-Blues and Kids Don't Bounce Band.

Morey's Fears - Terror on the Boardwalk
Enter - if you dare.
This Friday, Oct. 5, marks the day Morey's Piers officially becomes Morey's FEARS, and the "Terror on the Boardwalk" takes over for the Halloween season.
The annual scare-fest will include two new Halloween-only attractions this year - The Other Side and the Terror Trench, along with "amped-up" versions of the popular mazes CarnEvil and CornStalkers. Participants also may venture into the dark incarnations of the Sea Serpent, Tea Cups, Moby Dick, Rollie's Coaster, the Musik Express and Ghost Ship.
Morey's FEARS will take place 7 to 11 p.m. at Mariner's Landing on Fridays and Saturdays, October 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27. It is a general-admission, gated event with tickets required. Admission is $30. Season Pass Members receive $10 off admission with presentation of a valid 2012 season pass.
This event is not recommended for children under the age of 8. Guests are not permitted to wear masks, costumes or makeup.

Great Fall Classic Surf Fishing Tournament
It's time to cast your line.
The ASAC-sanctioned Great Fall Classic Surf Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at North Wildwood Beach Patrol headquarters, located at 15th Avenue and the beach in North Wildwood.
Registration begins 5 a.m. Saturday and the tournament runs from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Entry fee is $50 per six-man team, or $10 per individual.
An individual tournament - not ASAC-sanctioned - starts 5 a.m. Saturday and ends at noon on Sunday. Registration for the individual tournament begins 4 p.m. Saturday and ends 9 a.m. Sunday. The entry fee $10 per person.

All-Ford Truck & Car Show
Mustangs, Ford pickups and more - if you have a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle, come and join the Wildwood fun at the second annual All Ford Truck and Car Show, taking place Friday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 7, all along Pacific Avenue.
