Holmes Weekend
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's master sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, and his partner Dr. Watson return to Cape May for a weekend of mystery, murder and suspense during Sherlock Holmes Weekend, Friday, Nov. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 4.
Holmes and Watson face off with their most dangerous rival in this year's baffling case, "Sherlock Holmes and the Trial of Moriarty's Challenge." Join Holmes and Watson as they race into the maze of deceptions while they attempt to solve a murder before it actually happens.
Full Sherlock Holmes weekend packages are sold out, but tickets are still available for the Sherlock Holmes Weekend Search for Clues Tour 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Gather the evidence you need as you tour the interiors of a selection of Cape May's Victorian homes, where you'll find clues and complete your answer sheet. The Search for Clues Tour can be purchased separately at $15 per person. Anyone completing an answer sheet is eligible to win the Sherlock Holmes Weekend $250 grand prize and need not be present to win.
Also during Sherlock Holmes Weekend, the East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC) presents "Sherlock Holmes' Adventure of the Norwood Builder" on Friday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 3. Step back in time during this tale in the style of a vintage radio broadcast, complete with live sound effects and commercials. The production takes place at 8 p.m. both days at the First Presbyterian Church, Decatur and Hughes streets in Cape May. General admission is $25, full-time students are $15, and children aged 18 and under are free.

Music of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen
Music from two of the most influential and enigmatic performers and songwriters of their generation will come to life in "Love, Lust, Fear and Freedom: The Music of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen," 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at at the Landis Theater in Vineland.
Singer and actress Lauren Fox, above, and her trio will perform the songs from the two artists. The format consists of 16 songs - nine by Mitchell and seven by Cohen - creating a dialogue between the two masters in a moving revelation of familiar and well-loved songs. The program is part of Appel Farm's inaugural season of "Appel Farm at the Landis." Throughout the year, the events range from alternative and classic rock bands to folk icons, tributes and more.
