The Blues Brothers
In 1978, comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi created the Blues Brothers as part of a musical sketch on "Saturday Night Live." The late John Belushi played "Joliet" Jake Blues. Aykroyd portrayed Elwood J. Blues. The characters were featured in two movies: "The Blues Brothers" in 1980 and "Blues Brothers 2000" in 1998, with John Goodman as Mighty Mack McTeer in place of Belushi.
Mr. Bean, right
English comedian, actor and writer Rowan Atkinson, 54, is the title character, "Mr. Bean," in 14 half-hour episodes of the British comedy TV series. In 2002, the hapless Mr. Bean was transformed into an animated series of 26 half-hour episodes. The socially awkward, middle-aged character starred in two movies, "Mr. Bean" in 1990 and "Mr. Bean's Holiday" in 2007.
Wayne's World
Originally a recurring sketch from "Saturday Night Live," Wayne's World centered on a fictional local access television program in Aurora, Ill. Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) hosted the show with his enthusiastic, long-haired metalhead sidekick and best friend, Garth Algar (Dana Carvey). The original "Wayne's World" movie was well received when released in 1992, but it was followed one year later by the inferior sequel, "Wayne's World 2."
