Atlantic City Aquarium

Atlantic City Aquarium at Gardner's Basin displays fish, reptiles and amphibians. Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 29 to 31: diver show 11 a.m.; exotic animals show 2 p.m. Admission: $8 adults, $5 children. Call 609-348-2880.

Atlantic County Parks

Free guided 2-hour social hike at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Atlantic County Park at Estell Manor, starting at Fox Nature Center.

Preregister now for free nature classes for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Jan. 5 at Fox Nature Center. Call 609-645-5960.

Bayshore

Discovery Project

The Bayshore Discovery Project will offer enrichment classes on the bay and biology for children 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years on Saturdays in January.

Drawing and maritime skills classes for adults Monday evenings will be held in February. Call 856-785-2060.

Cape May

Bird Observatory

NJ Audubon's CMBO has the Research & Education Center, 600 Route 47, Middle Township, and the Northwood Center on Lily Lake in Cape May Point. Call 609-861-0700.

A guided field trip to kick off birders' 2012 sightings list will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, starting at Cape May Point. Cost is $35; preregister. Last year 76 species were found.
