Nature Center of Cape May

N.J. Audubon's Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave., has exhibits and observation tower; admission is free. Kayak trips many days. Call 609-898-8848.

Register now for tours of private monarch gardens 10 a.m. Sept. 14 to 16; cost $40 per tour.

Nature Conservancy

The Conservancy's Bayshores Center, 2350 Route 47, Delmont, has nature trails. Call 609-861-0600.

Wetlands Institute

Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, has displays and gift shop. Admission $8 adults, $6 ages 3 to 12, includes activities. Call 609-368-1211.

Salt-marsh film and trail walks at noon and 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays; and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekdays.

Live animal program 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 12:15 p.m. weekdays.

Crabbing at 2:15 p.m. Sundays.

Stranding center

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center, Brigantine Avenue and 34th Street, Brigantine, has museum, gift shop and tours for a fee. Call 609-266-0539

Atlantic County Parks

Free beginner's birding workshop for ages 8 to 12 with an adult from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Atlantic County Park at Estell Manor, Route 50 south of Mays Landing; must preregister.

Atlantic City Aquarium

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

Cape May Point State Park

Cape May Bird Observatory
