Cape May Bird Observatory

NJ Audubon's CMBO has the Research & Education Center, 600 Route 47, Middle Township, and the Northwood Center on Lily Lake in Cape May Point. Call 609-861-0700.

Nature walk at Cox Hall Creek WMA 9 a.m.; meet at west end of Shawmount Ave. in Villas. Friday: Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area at 7:30 a.m.; meet at lot, west end of New England Road. Saturday: Belleplain State Forest at 7:30 a.m.; meet at forest office, Route 550, west of Woodbine. Rea Farm (The Beanery) in West Cape May at 7:30 a.m.; at parking lot. Relaxed birding at Cape May Point State Park at 3 p.m.; at platform. Sunday: Cox Hall Creek WMA at 7:30 a.m.; at parking area, Shawmount Road, Lower Township. Monday: Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge with author Pete Dunne at 7:30 a.m.; meet at lot. Tuesday: Photo birding walk at Cape May Point State Park at 8 a.m.; meet at platform. Wednesday: Cape May Point State Park at 7:30 a.m.; meet at platform. Nummy Island at 4:30 p.m.; meet just south of free bridge from Stone Harbor.

Cape May Point State Park

Cape May Point State Park has nature trails and museum. Call 609-884-2159.

Free frog program and guided walk 7 p.m. Fridays; bring flashlights.

FrogFest and best-dressed frog contest, with show, games and crafts, at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7; free, but preregister.

Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

Guided birding and nature walk 9 to 11 a.m. Fridays, starting at Forsythe NWR visitor center, off Route 9 in Oceanville, Galloway Township. Call 609-652-1665, ext. 21.

Nature Center of Cape May

The Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave., is closed until April 14. Call 609-898-8848.

Stranding center

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center, at 3625 Brigantine Blvd., Brigantine, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, with free museum and tours. Call 609-266-0538.

Wetlands Institute

Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, has displays and gift shop. Admission $8 adults, $6 ages 3 to 12, includes activities. Call 609-368-1211.

Workshop on rescuing terrapin hatchlings from storm drains 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 6.

Science program 2:15 p.m. Fridays. Animal program 2:15 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Crafts 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Volunteers sought for terrapin barrier installation at 9 a.m. April 13.
