Nature Center in Cape

N.J. Audubon's Nature Center of Cape May, 1600 Delaware Ave., has exhibits and observation tower; admission is free. Call 609-898-8848.

Nature Conservancy

The Conservancy's Bayshores Center, 2350 Route 47, Delmont, has nature trails. Call 609-861-0600.

Atlantic City Aquarium

Atlantic City Aquarium at Gardner's Basin displays fish, reptiles and amphibians. Admission: $8 adults, $5 children. Call 609-348-2880.

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

Free family nature walks at 9 a.m. Saturdays at Two Mile Beach Unit of Cape May NWR, Ocean Drive south of Wildwood Crest. Call 215-341-1044.

Cape May Point State Park

Cape May Point State Park has nature trails, museum and free programs. Call 609-884-2159.

Wetlands Institute

Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, has displays and gift shop. Admission (temporarily) $4 adults, $3 ages 3 to 12, includes activities. Call 609-368-1211.

Phila. Academy of Natural Science live animal program on insects and butterflies 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28; $9 adults, $7 children. Program at 6:30 p.m. July 5 on all-American animals.

Salt-marsh film and trail walks at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. weekdays.

Live animal program 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. and seining for tidal life at 3:15 p.m. weekdays. Kayak tours most days; call for times.

Turtle program at 5 p.m. Tuesdays; shell program at 10 a.m. Sundays.

Nature walks at 9:30 a.m. Mondays at Stone Harbor Point (122nd Street) and 9 a.m. Wednesdays at 48th and Dune Drive, Avalon; $3 each.

Nature boat tour 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, from Bayside Center in Ocean City; $23 adults, $15 children.

Weekly birding (and other) trips June 28 to July 4 - Cost $10; show and go. Thursday: Beginners bird walk 8:30 a.m. at Cape May Point State Park; meet at Hawk Watch platform. Nature walk at Cox Hall Creek WMA 9 a.m.; meet at west end of Shawmount Avenue in Villas. Friday: Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge at 6:30 p.m.; meet at lot, Sunset Boulevard. Saturday: Cape May Point State Park at 7:30 a.m.; at platform. Sunday: Belleplain State Forest at 10:30 a.m.; at forest office. Monday: Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge with author Pete Dunne at 7:30 a.m.; meet at lot. Wednesday: Cape May Point at 7:30 a.m.; at platform.

Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

Guided birding and nature walks 8 to 10 a.m. Fridays, starting at visitor center, off Route 9, Oceanville in Galloway Township. Call 609-652-1665, ext. 21.
