Atlantic City Aquarium

Atlantic City Aquarium at Gardner's Basin displays fish, reptiles and amphibians. Admission: $8 adults, $5 children. Call 609-348-2880.

Atlantic County Parks

Register now for free nature classes for 3- to 5-year-old preschoolers at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. June 7 at Fox Nature Center, Atlantic County Park at Estell Manor, Route 50 south of Mays Landing. Call 609-625-7000, ext. 5431.

Delaware Bay Day

Annual free folklife festival, Delaware Bay Day, from noon to fireworks at dark Saturday, June 2, in Bivalve, Port Norris, Cumberland County, with food, live entertainment, exhibits, games and crafts. Free parking and shuttle. To reserve boat cruise, call 856-785-2060.

Marine mammal center

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center, 3625 Atlantic-Brigantine Blvd., Brigantine, offers group tours for a fee. Museum and gift shop open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Call 609-266-0538.

Wetlands Institute

Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, has displays and gift shop. Admission (temporarily) $4 adults, $3 ages 3 to 12, includes activities. Call 609-368-1211.

Salt-marsh safaris at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Mondays.

 

Nature Conservancy

Cape May Bird Observatory

NJ Audubon's CMBO has the Research & Education Center, 600 Route 47, Middle Township, and the Northwood Center on Lily Lake in Cape May Point. Call 609-861-0700.

Weekly birding (and other) trips Thursday, May 31, to Wednesday, June 6 - Cost $10; show and go. Thursday: Belleplain State Forest at 7:30 a.m.; meet at forest office, Route 550, west of Woodbine. Nature walk at Cox Hall Creek WMA 9 a.m.; meet at west end of Shawmount Avenue in Villas. Friday: Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge at 6:30 p.m.; meet at lot, Sunset Boulevard. Saturday: Rea Farm (The Beanery) in West Cape May at 7:30 a.m.; at parking lot. Sunday: Belleplain State Forest at 10:30 a.m.; at forest office. Monday: Cape May Migratory Bird Refuge with Pete Dunne at 7:30 a.m.; meet at lot. Tuesday: Photo walk at Cape May Point State Park at 8 a.m.; at platform. Wednesday: Cape May Point at 7:30 a.m.; at platform.

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

Guided birding and nature walks 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, starting at visitor center, off Route 9, Oceanville in Galloway Township.

Nature Center of Cape May
