Bring out your green duds and get ready for unwarranted kisses. It's St. Patrick's Day weekend, and southern New Jersey literally goes green as the St. Patrick's Day Parade marches down the Atlantic City Boardwalk and dozens of area bars and restaurants prepare their finest traditional and innovative versions of Irish fare.

The St. Patty's cheer doesn't last just one day - Tuesday, March 17 - it starts on Friday, March 13, at The Trinity Irish Pub & Carvery inside The Pier Shops at Caesars in Atlantic City. While you're enjoying a Smithwicks or perhaps a Guinness, listen to the wild sounds of the Whiskey Train Duo, which performs at 9 p.m. Trinity keeps it going throughout the Atlantic City parade on Saturday, March 14. After the march, catch Irish Mist from 2 to 7 p.m. and stick around for Alan Gogarty, an authentic, Irish musician, who plays from 7 to 11 p.m. And if that wasn't enough, Ravioli Shanker is closing the evening with some awesome rock 'n' roll from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

As for the big day, Irish Mist returns to the Trinity from 1 to 7 p.m. And, as everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day, join your fellow countrymen in the celebration of one of the biggest musical acts to come out of Ireland, U2 ... sort of. It's not truly Bono in the shades, but U2 Nation is the next best thing. One of the biggest U2 tribute acts rocks the Trinity at 7 p.m. (See interview on Page 26). Call 609-345-6900.

While you're in Atlantic City, get away from the hustle and bustle of the casinos and take in an authentic Irish experience at the one-and-only Irish Pub, which is known for offering the most bang for your buck. Enjoy Irish food and a slew of Irish beers and spirits throughout the entire day. Call 609-345-9613.

Not too far outside of A.C. is Galloway's little slice of Ireland, The Dubliner Irish Pub and Grill (See Family Fare on Page 30). Saturday marks one of Galloway's biggest St. Patty's parties: The Dubliner Anniversary Party. Expect Irish food and drink specials throughout the day, as well as Karaoke with Bernie, a live broadcast from WJSE 102.7-FM, games and a vast array of prizes. You could even win a free tattoo courtesy of Hold Fast Tattoos. Be sure to come hungry and enroll in Dubliner's wing-eating competition. The fun, games and Irish nonsense goes from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

You can also wind down at The Dubliner on Celtic Sunday, where traditional Irish music and Celtic traditions ring throughout the bar and restaurant. All patrons are invited to bring an instrument and join in on this authentic-style Irish pub musical tradition. The wind down begins at 5 p.m. Call 609-652-2210.

It's St. Patty's Day in Cumerbland County, too! Bogart's Books and Music in Millville is holding a Pre-Irish Festival with live music by the South Jersey Songwriters Guild from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. As for Tuesday, the St. Patrick's Celebration entails music by Howie Zwicker and George Martin, who start the party early at 2 p.m.

Almost directly across the street from Bogart's, you'll find the Old Oar House Irish Pub. This St. Patty's Day brings out a truly one-of-a-kind act with The Founders, a 6-piece rock 'n' roll band with bagpipes. The Oar House also has a wide variety of Irish beers and specialty drinks alongside fantastic and authentic food. You really can't lose! Call Bogart's at 856-327-3714 and The Old Oar House at 856-293-1200.
