North End American Grill is bringing a West Coast vibe to North Wildwood with its Cali-inspired upscale bar menu, surfboard-style bar top and its endless summer standpoint.
"We're open year round" says owner Justin Barnabei, son of the primary owner Jim Barnabei.
The North End American Grill is the Barnabei family's third and latest venue, the others being the acclaimed Marie Nicole's in Wildwood Crest and Concord Cafe in Avalon.
The restaurant opened last July and can be described as a mix of the other two Barnabei venues, says Justin, meaning it has the upscale menu of Marie Nicole's but in a laid back, casual environment like Concord Cafe.
The menu, like the decor, features a California flair with innovative items such as ahi tuna tacos and shrimp and avocado clubs. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, a weekday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. and live entertainment through Irish Weekend, which Thursday, Sept. 20, through Sunday, Sept. 23.
Perfoming during Irish weekend will be the Cheezy and the Crackers Band 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21, 22 and 23. The Cheezy and the Crackers Band are a reggae/rock band, but they also will be playing some Irish music for this special occasion, Justin says.
The North End American Grill is the ideal place to be during football season as it offers live radio football commentary by 98.7-FM The Coast for two hours during the games, as well as a survivor pool and food and drink specials on Sunday and Monday during games.
The "Eagles Coundown to Kickoff" radio shows are hosted by Joe "Krausey" Krause and The Philly Godfather of 98.7 The Coast and include info on the latest lines, the injury report, updated scores from around the league and more..
The North End American Grill and The Coast are also hosting a "Survivor Pool." The person who picks the most winners each week will win the grand prize at season's end of two Eagles playoff tickets, an autographed Eagles jersey, a football party for up to 50 friends at North End for the big game and a football survivor wrist watch.
Last but not least, all drinks are a dollar off during any NFL football game, and the restaurant features a $5 specialty food menu with items such as flatbread pizzas, pulled pork sliders and burgers.
