The Hammonton Arts Center invites viewers on a tour of Italy through the watercolor paintings of Marie Natale in "La Vita Bella: One Artist's Journey Through Italy."

The exhibit is the result of Natale's recent teaching trip through Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Florence, Todi, Deruta and Orvietto, where she traveled with art students from throughout the U.S.

A free meet-the-artist and opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, when the gallery stays open late for the Third Thursday events in the downtown shopping district. The exhibit will hang in the gallery through March 3.

Natale is a Signature Member of the Noyes Museum in Galloway Township, the New Jersey Watercolor Society, where she serves on the board, and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society. Her paintings have been exhibited extensively throughout the region and she has won numerous awards both locally and on the national level.

A former public school educator, she currently teaches watercolor privately at her home studio and at the Ocean City Art Center and at community centers and art guilds throughout the East Coast and abroad.

The Hammonton Arts Center is located at 219 Bellevue Ave. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays (open to 8 p.m. during Third Thursday events); and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
