Alex Stillano, one of the founders of the Pine Shores Art Association and a long-established professional artist, is featured in a one-man show running through March at the PSAA gallery in Manahawkin.

The show includes more than 20 of his works, oil paintings that were mostly created in studio sessions, and several pastel studies that were done during Pine Shores' weekly two-hour life and portrait sessions, which Stillano has participated in for years.

Although he began his artistic career as a graphic artist, Stillano's passion is portraits and figure studies.

After retiring years ago as design director for McGraw-Hill's Architectural Record in New York City, Stillano made his Long Beach Island vacation home his permanent residence. He remains active in both the Ocean County Artists Guild and Pine Shores, and has won several design and painting awards.

The Pine Shores' studio and gallery is located at 94 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin. The gallery is open to the public through March from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays, 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays, and 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Call 240-462-8963 or go to
