Twelve independent resident artists of the Hammonton Artist Studios are featured in the month-long invitational exhibit, "The New Artists in Town," opening Friday, Jan. 4, at the Hammonton Arts Center.
An opening reception for the exhibit takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments for the evening will be provided by Atlantic Cape Community College's Culinary School.
The Hammonton Artist Studios is the newest art space located in the downtown business section that houses professional and emerging artists from the region. The artists work in their spaces, which are open to the public for studio tours on Third Thursdays.
Resident artists whose work will be displayed during the exhibit are Charles Arsenault, painting; Liz Azzolina, painting; Lauren Marie Birchtold, illustration; Stephen Garrity, painting and assemblage; Diane Grimes, painting and video; Amy Iverson, jewelry and painting; Brenda Kele, ceramics; E.B. Lewis, illustration; Glynnis Reed, photo collage and mixed media; John Toothman, painting/mixed media and jewelry; Nicole Rae Vivirito, painting; and Patricia Walker, painting.
The exhibit continues through Jan. 30.

•Artwork by members of the Ocean City Fine Arts League is exhibited at Shore Medical Center's Surgical Pavilion through March 2013.
