Artwork depicting New Jersey's hidden landmarks from waterfalls to salt marshes, and abstract work by artists of the Ocean City Fine Arts League, are part of the newest exhibit hanging at Shore Medical Center's Surgical Pavilion in Somers Point.

A gallery reception, rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy, will be held 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

All artwork on display was created by local artists who reside in the South Jersey area. In addition to the Art on Asbury works, a special wall is dedicated to the artwork created by the Arc of Atlantic County students and their teachers. Artists from the Ocean City Fine Arts League have partnered with Arc of Atlantic County for the past nine years. Arc students, with the help of artists Susan Rau, Jennifer Bird and Thelma Snyder, also recently completed a mural at the Arc of South Jersey offices on Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township.

The surgical pavilion gallery is located on the medical center's second-floor lobby, on the corner of Brighton and Bay avenues. New exhibits are highlighted every six months and all artwork is for sale.
