The competition challenge was to represent the unique spirit of New Jersey and more than 400 photographers from throughout the state answered the call. The result is "Raw," the juried photography exhibition opening March 30 at The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton College in Hammonton.

Only the top 40 images are displayed in the exhibit, which was judged by Richard Stockton College distinguished photography professor Wendel A. White.

The submissions chosen best capture thematic elements and motifs revolving around New Jersey's raw spirit and splendor, exhibit directors said. Subjects include, but are not limited to, landscapes, nature, people and waterscapes.
