800 Bay by Philippe is now, once again, just 800 Bay after Chef Philippe Chin recently left the restaurant to pursue another restaurant opportunity in Hawaii.

Owner Dr. Ira Trocki says many of the signature menu items at the restaurant - located at 800 Bay in Somers Point - will remain, including steaks, chops, fresh fish and more, but the menu will be adapted to make it more casual. In addition to its current casual items such as the Kobe cheeseburger and meatloaf, and a raw bar display will soon be installed for customers.

"We are changing the menu to make it less French and less Asian and more casual American," Trocki says. "In this economy, people really don't want to spend $100 on dinner anymore."

800 Bay will continue to be open for lunch and dinner daily with live entertainment regularly. And the outside deck remains one of the most popular, scenic hangouts in the area. Call 609-926-3500 for reservations or more information.
