‘Hamlet’ at Stockton

The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival will bring their production of William Shakespeare’s classic “Hamlet” to The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey’s Performing Arts Center 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28.

The Shakespeare Festival has produced more than 30 plays, reaching more than 30,000 high school students and nearly 70,000 adult audience members.

The Stockton Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, on Jimmie Leeds Road in Galloway Township.

Kovalev vs. Agnew at Boardwalk Hall

Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev will be looking for his 22nd knockout when he returns to the ring for his 2014 debut to defend his WBO World Light Heavyweight title against undefeated challenger Cedric Agnew on Saturday, March 29, at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Kovalev vs. Agnew, presented by Main Events with Caesars Atlantic City, will be televised live on HBO’s “Boxing After Dark” beginning 10 p.m. that night. Boardwalk Hall doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Kovalev, originally of Chelyabinsk, Russia, has 21 career knockouts, with six occurring in the first round. Agnew, of Chicago, is also undefeated in 26 professional bouts with 13 of those coming by knockout.

Light heavyweight contender Lionell "Lonnie B." Thompson will also fight Radivoje Kalajdzic in a 10-round contest, topping an undercard that includes several local boxers.

Somers Point Jazz Society Winter/Spring Series

The Somers Point Jazz Society continues its Winter/Spring Jazz Series with the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra, performing 7:30 to 9 p.m.Thursday, March 27, at Clancy’s By the Bay. Guitarist and arranger David O’Rourke will direct the performance.

Clancy’s By the Bay is located at Maryland and Sunny avenues in Somers Point. Admission is $5 for Jazz Society members and $10 for non-members. An April 17 concert featuring the Peabody Jazz Orchestra will conclude the series.
