Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will once again prove why it’s considered one of the premiere poker destinations in the country, when it hosts the Borgata Spring Poker Open Tuesday, April 2 to April 19.
The fourth annual spring open will feature 53 events culminating with the Borgata Spring Open Championship April 14 to 18, which offers a little spin on some of the casino’s other championship events. The $2,500 game is a Double Play, which offers players the opportunity to play April 14, and if they bust out, they can re-enter and play on April 15.
The championship game, which includes $30,000 in tournament chips for each player, offers a guaranteed $1 million prize, but if past Borgata tournaments have proved anything, it’s that the guarantee will certainly be greatly exceeded.

Easter at Revel
Revel will get into the Easter spirit this weekend with its first Eggcellent Egg Hunt Weekend Friday through Easter Sunday.
The $2.5 billion casino’s holiday event encourages guests to visit various venues throughout Revel to receive stamps for lucky eggs containing prizes that include overnight stays, dining certificates and free slot play.

Edward Batten, a great culinary professional and cheerleader for Atlantic City, recently returned to the city by accepting the position of executive director of food and beverage for Resorts Casino Hotel.
If his name sounds familiar, it should. As director of food service and executive chef at Harrah’s Resort, he helped open, conceptualize and design Harrah’s Waterfront Buffet and Viking Cooking School, while also overseeing all of its restaurants, including the opening of the former Polistina’s and helping rebrand its steakhouse.
He also served as director of food and beverage and hospitality at Harrah’s Chester, rebranding concepts there and overhauling its entire food and beverage programs, including luring Tony Luke’s cheesesteaks to the property.
“It’s an exciting time to be back in Atlantic City,” Batten says. “Hopefully, the worst is behind the market and there are many great things to come, particularly at Resorts, where I am excited to be part of the team.”
Batten will certainly have his hands full as Resorts will open a food court as well as a Margaritaville-themed bar inside the casino to complement the Margaritaville project that will debut this spring.
